Kids and families at De Helfterkamp

A well-kept, family friendly campsite in the heart of the Veluwe National Park: De Helfterkamp. Owners Bart and Kirsten are real family people and know like no others what’s important for a successful holiday. You will find no shortage of facilities, activities or entertainment. We’d love to welcome you!

Plenty to do for the whole family

Separate fields with view of play areas
Our fields are spacious and the ones with play areas are laid out in such a way that you can always keep an eye on your children, but without losing a sense of privacy.
Petting zoo, play meadow, woodland, frog pond and stream
The kids can play outside all day without ever having to leave the campsite. Be it in the woodland or the meadow, on the discovery trail or paddling in the frog pond or stream.
Entertainment Team and play barn ‘De Schuure’
For the little ones, as well as slightly older children, we offer an entertainment programme, run by a national, professional kids’ entertainment service called De Eendenclub (The Duck Club). This takes place partly from our play barn ‘De Schuure’, the best place for fun activities, a game of table tennis or fussball. A tv, a sofa, a piano and a bookcase can also be found in the barn.
Fairytale tour, ghost tour, wide games, musicals and more
There are many adventures to be had for little ones, older kids, adventurers and princesses. Parents and grandparents are very welcome to join in as well, in both inside and outside activities.

We are very proud to have been named ‘The most beautiful green campsite of 2021‘. De Helfterkamp is located in the heart of the Veluwe National Park, surrounded by nature. Owners Bart and Kirsten lovingly look after the campsite with great attention to the estate’s natural heritage. There is much to explore in the area: strike out, by bike or on foot, and enjoy all the beauty the Veluwe has to offer. We’ll guarantee you’ll spot some wildlife!!

Campsite owners, Bart and Kirsten care about nature conservation, and want all their visitors to fully enjoy the natural beauty of De Helfterkamp. Whether that means playing with the kids by the frog pond, fishing in the stream, or a quiet walk in the woods alone or together.
Discover the springs and streams
At campsite De Helfterkamp there are many springs and streams worth exploring. For the little ones we offer a discovery tour, and for adults a guided walk with a conservationist.
Dogs are welcome
Your pets are more than welcome to join you on our pitches and in our holiday cottage! In the forest as well as in the off-lead area next to the campsite they can run and play to their heart’s content.

Be it on the campsite itself, on a walk in the woods or by the streams, or maybe playing boules! Walk or cycle in the Veluwe
With walking routes starting just around the corner, castle Cannenburgh close by, as well as the royal ‘Loo’ palace at cycling distance, the best of the Veluwe is at your fingertips.
Fresh-bread-service
Nothing is as nice as getting up at dawn and breakfasting on freshly baked bread rolls. As long as you place your order by evening, you’ll receive freshly baked bread from the bakery in Vaassen the next morning.
Jeu de boules
Our campsite attracts people who value the beauty and peace of the outdoors, but who also enjoy fun activities together. Why not try your hand at a (friendly or competitive) game of boules? Bring a rug and a picnic.
Gastronomy and wellness
Returning every year: The Taste of the Veluwe Market. Delicious, local gastronomy and a friendly atmosphere make for a great evening! In addition, the village of Vaassen has many great restaurants, including the 3 Michelin-starred restaurant ‘De Leest’. At cycling distance: the spa at De Veluwse Bron, right by the lake.
