Green campsite in the Veluwe National Park

Come and enjoy a fun, restful holiday with the kids at our green, family friendly campsite in Vaassen, in the heart of the Veluwe National Park. Visitors of all ages feel at home at our well-kept, family friendly campsite. The site offers 160 spacious, well-maintained pitches, as well as accommodations, including touring caravans, motorhomes and a holiday cottage. We were named ‘The most beautiful green campsite of 2019’.

Walks, cycle routes and bike hire

In the surrounding area you will find over a dozen walks and cycle routes, which take you e.g. to the royal ‘Loo’ palace museum. The cycle route to Apeldoorn is very popular with visitors, as well as wildlife spotting tours. You can rent a bike at the camping site. Prefer a mountain bike? Wildlife watching in the Veluwe National Park

You can see deer, foxes and other wildlife around De Helfterkamp, in the Veluwe National Park. The Veluwe is known for its beautiful woodland, heather and sand plains, as well as friendly villages. Look out for ‘The Big Five’, the wildlife of the Veluwe. There are several wildlife watching tours. For more information, stop by our campsite shop. We’d love to help.

Bring your dog on holiday

Well behaved dogs are more than welcome to join you on your camping pitch or inside the holiday cottage. There is an off-lead area just around the corner and great walks nearby. In addition, the campsite itself has lots of green spaces, fields and woodland, although we do ask that dogs be kept on a lead in most areas on the camping site.

Surrounded by nature

You don’t have to leave the campsite in order to be in nature. With 14 hectares of woodland and fields De Helfterkamp is an oasis of green. There is a petting zoo with farm animals and a stream that runs through and around our campsite. The shallow beck is a great place for kids to paddle or even fish.

The most beautiful green campsite – Royal Dutch Touring Club

The Royal Dutch Touring Club has named De Helfterkamp ‘The most beautiful green camping site‘ of Holland in 2019. This is a great honour, as the award was based on visitor votes, and because sustainability and the environment were important factors.
